Five Trends (Part 2)

Here is the post that you have all been waiting for: Part 2! Last week we covered five antique trends and this week we are going to cover five more. Through these last two posts, we hope that you now have learned something new. With all of your knowledge, you now have the power to outsmart your friends. Next time you are out shopping, make sure you show off all of your decorating knowledge to them. Now, enjoy the next five trends!

The first trend is Pyrex. Vintage Pyrex has been huge lately and it does not seem to be dying down. These are quality pieces that in no way compare to the glass that you buy at the store now. Pyrex is sure to last you a lifetime and you can't beat the vast amount of designs and colors that it comes in. There are so many options to choose from and we have a bunch of them at TNJ!

Our next trend is refurbished pieces! It is all about taking something old and giving it a new life. You can either do this yourself or come on down to TNJ and find some refurbished pieces here to save you the hassle. Refurbished pieces are a great way to make a room look modern and vintage at the same time.

Now this next trend you may be thinking, "isn't it the same as refurbished?" Alas, it is not. Now we are on to re-purposing. Re-purposing and refurbishing are two completely different things. Re-purposing takes an old piece and gives it a completely different use. Here are a few examples of that:

These two pieces are now beautiful chalkboards that can be hung on any wall.

These old windows are now great pieces of art for your wall.

This vintage swing makes a great plant holder!

A white picket fence makes a perfect rack for your magazines or linens.

This adorable locker can provide you with extra storage such as a little pantry for your small kitchen.

This next trend is another one that just seems to keep going strong. Shabby chic is probably something that you have heard of, but did you know that it is actually a brand as well as a style that Rachel Ashwell created 25 years ago? It grew into something that she never imagined and it can now be found in hundreds of homes and stores. We love shabby chic here at TNJ and it can be found throughout all of the store.

This last trend is definitely one of our favorites at TNJ that can be found all over the store, our Facebook page, and Instagram. Vintage suitcases, so simple yet they have so many uses. You can turn them into side tables or you can place them throughout your house as decoration. The best part is you can hide all of your treasures in them and nobody will even know it's there.
